Welcome to Hönö Boat Tours, run by skipper and archipelago guide Bosse Johansson, who spent his summers growing up on Vinga. Bosse will share captivating stories about life on the islands and real historical events. Learn about the Viking Age, the great herring periods, and hear the fascinating tale of "When the English Fleet Was Sighted at Vinga."
During the tour, you'll pass the English Free Port outside Gothenburg, active during Napoleon’s Continental Blockade between Fotö and Risö (1807-1812). You'll also hear about the dramatic events of May 8, 1945—the final day of WWII in the Gothenburg archipelago—and the fate of the German submarine U-3503 and its crew. These stories are engaging for all ages!

Discover checkpoints and explore new places with Hittaut!
Hittaut is a free outdoor activity that encourages exercise while navigating with a map (either on paper or via an app) to find checkpoints. These checkpoints are available in four different difficulty levels and are located in urban areas, parks, residential neighborhoods, and forests close to towns. Hittaut is accessible around the clock during the summer season, allowing you to participate at your own convenience—whether by walking or running. Choose from our beautiful islands: Fotö, Hönö, Öckerö, Källö Knippla, Rörö & Björkö.

Our daily lunch includes fish, meat, and vegetarian options for 130 SEK per person, including a salad buffet, coffee, and dessert.

The Christmas buffet is a cherished tradition, bringing us together across generations. At Franses Skärgårdspub, we serve a festive buffet where classic holiday flavors meet the tastes of the sea—because what would a Christmas in the archipelago be without herring, seafood, and fish?
Program:
- 13:00 – We start with mulled wine, gingerbread cookies, and a festive Christmas crème in a cozy mingle session.
- 13:30 – The Christmas buffet is served in our original pub and remains available until approx. 15:30.
- 15:00 – Time for a festive archipelago quiz!

Christmas Smorgardsbord - A Swedish tradition
The Christmas smorgasbord lies close to our hearts and its traditions take us back many generations. Our atmosphere suits perfect for the Christmas feeling of snuggles and coziness together with the dull smell of tar, the binge boards, the herring barrels and the sound from the sea rippling outside the walls to a warm crackling fire.
